1. The Recording System Ver. 3.0 (Redundant System)

v     Introduction

Redundant System consists of two systems that works together in order not to ever miss a call unrecorded. These two systems connected together by a connector software that make them one redundant to the another one. The Running System (Base System or In Operation) can be one of the previous two versions (Archivist or Recording and Monitoring) and will be the primary system that any Call in the system will be recorded by it automatically. The Hot standby system (Secondary System) will be the standby System that will not Record the Calls, instead it will ask the Base System (Running or in operation system) for every call occurred on the System if he record it, if the Base system did not respond or respond with not recording the” Hot Standby System” will record this Call and notify by an Alarm or by a report.
This section describes how to install and configure the two systems in order to work with each other as one hot standby to the another one.
v  Installation
First of all, the system should be installed correctly before usage.
Requirements
Operating systems
·        Windows XP SP1 or higher
·        Windows Vista
·        Windows Server 2003 or higher
Frame Work
·        Windows Installer 3.1
A.    .Net Framework 2.0
In the CD, you will find the setup file that will install the windows installer and the .Net Framework 2.0. If the Framework already installed, then you will find the two Systems (Archivist and the Recording and Monitoring System) and the Connector Software, Install them and you are ready for working.
v   The running system (Base System)
In the Base System (in operation), the Recording and monitoring System should be running in normal way, in order to be monitored by the secondary system (Hot Standby) you need to run another software named Connector which is the connection way between the two systems, this software should be configured in order to work in prober way with the Hot standby system. In the following figure you adjust parameters according to the settings you make in the configuration window in the recording and monitoring system and according to the connections you made in the system.

1.      Connect Port: the Com Port that will be used to Connect the two Systems
2.      Time: the waiting time the server wait to check for the Connection from the Hot Standby Client
After pressing start it will work in background to listen for any incoming connection from the client side. To End/Close the Hot Standby server Program press Alt+F4.

v   Redundant Unit (Hot Standby System)
The redundant unit will be the ready to be in operation at zero time delay in case of any defect in the running unite, this will be done if we configure the redundant unit (the slave unit) to be (hot standby). For every call that comes to the system the hot standby unite asks automatically the running system if it is recording this call? If the running system did not respond or respond with not recording the hot standby System should record this call and report or alarm this failure.
In order to configure the recording system to work a Hot Standby system you should open System Configuration window and open the” Hot Standby” tap and choose work as” Hot Standby” check box and specify the connect Com Port.
